Edutools works to promote educational change within a superdiverse Europe.

In the Edutools research group at the University of León, we believe that inclusive education is a key aspect to face the challenges of an increasingly diverse Europe. From this perspective, we participate in the European project Inclusive Diversity in European Education System, an initiative that seeks to transform educational systems to adapt them to the cultural and social ‘superdiversity’ that defines our current societies.

What is superdiversity?

Superdiversity describes the complexity that arises from the coexistence of multiple cultural, ethnic and social identities in the same environment. This phenomenon, increasingly present in Europe, poses significant challenges for education, as traditional methods are not always able to meet the needs of students with different backgrounds and experiences.

Our objective

Within this project, the Edutools team leads actions aimed at developing innovative pedagogical tools that enable teachers to address this diversity in the classroom. With these tools we intend that each student, regardless of their origin, feel recognized and supported in their educational process.

The project, funded by the French Erasmus+ Agency, has a budget of 400,000 euros and will run until August 2027. It involves the universities of Calabria (Italy), Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) and Lorraine (France), as well as the French association Les Petits Débrouillards Grand Est.

What are we doing?

Our work focuses on designing educational environments that promote inclusion and academic success. This includes:

Adapted teaching materials: accessible, multilingual resources that reflect the diversity of students.

Digital platforms: Interactive spaces for sharing knowledge and connecting teachers and students.

Teacher training: We train educators to use these tools effectively and creatively.

The impact we seek

We not only want to improve learning in the classroom, but also foster social cohesion. By reducing educational barriers and valuing differences, we aim to build a more inclusive Europe, where all students have equal opportunities.

Our commitment

At Edutools, we are proud to participate in this project. We see it as a way to contribute to a fairer and more equitable educational future, where diversity is understood as an opportunity.
